I hate that question. I don't have an absolute favorite! If you asked me to pick one car to drive for free forever, i wouldn't be able to pick.

McLaren F1.

I'll never own it. I'll never sit in it. I'll likely never touch it. Nevertheless, I can't help but marvel at the engineering that went into the car, and how far forward it pushed the performance bar for supercars.

Oooooo, it's a tie between the C1 Corvette and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. I'd probably go with the Aston though.

The Alfa 2000 spider, I saw in 2005 in the Andy Garcia movie "The Lost City", been in love with it ever since.

Either the Mclaren F1 or Ferrari F40. Each has specific traits that I adore.

Current generation GMC Sierra 1500 Denali.

I like trucks a lot.

And all that capability mixed with luxury thanks to being a Denali.

And with the 6.2L V8, it ain't no slouch.

I don't really have any family members or close friends that are car enthusiasts, so whenever they ask me what my favorite car is they don't understand why I hesitate. It's tough!

Once when I was a youngster, I was walking around my town with a few friends. We passed the local luxury auto dealership and found that the gate, usually locked, was open. We wandered inside the showroom and found the only person inside was a young man on the computer, who seemed to care little about our presence. It was then that we saw it, in glossy black, the McLaren F1. I had never heard of the car before, and there it was. I was astounded by its beauty.

May I ask why? I had a hot wheels Audi Avus as a kid and I was obsessed with it back then...the Avus Quattro was a stunning concept...it is a sin it was not put into production

When I was young, my dream car was a 1967 Camaro SS, with hideaway headlights. Hugger orange with black stripes. As I got older, I began to lust after the H1 Alpha. Now, I don't have a single favorite car, I have loads! Dodge Challenger Hellcat, 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire, M35A2, and Porsche 918, just to name a few.

BUICK GNX.

The GNX is an insane car.

As Patrick George wrote:

"Essentially a Buick Regal Grand National with a huge turbocharged V6 engine and an astronomical amount of horsepower and torque, the GNX was capable of the zero to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds, making it both a tire-shredder and a giant killer. And it looks mean as fuck, too." Yeah. 4.7 Seconds in 1986.

Long story, with many branching answers. But J Mays pretty much got me into car design, and that car was without exaggeration a revelation. (Too bad its engine was made of wood...)

The one time J reviewed my work personally, on my Cobra at Ford, he said it had a great rhythm. That's pretty much the biggest compliment I've ever received, design-wise.

It was his ethos that resonated with me really strongly, and even though others whose work he hated (cf Bangle, whom I admire the hell out of) were doing really different things, he hit all the right notes at exactly the right time. And it was an interview from 1992, when he'd just started leading Audi's CA studio, that made me decide that that's what I was going to do. Not to follow, but to learn from. More than anyone who's led global design teams, he understood the balance between history, emotional resonance, and looking toward the future.

I would honestly be happy with any Zonda. They never came to the US, so I will likely never get the chance to see/sit in/drive/own one....
